Stacy Cordery, author of Alice: Alice Roosevelt Longworth, from White House Princess to Washington Power Broker (Viking, 2007) will be speaking at 2 pm in Milner Library atrium on March 27, 2008.

Black History Month
Dr. Dean Robinson, University of Massachusetts Amherst, spoke on February 25, 2008. He is the author of Health Disparities By Race and Class: Why Both Matter (2005),The Black Family and US Social Policy (2003), and Black Nationalism In American Politics and Thought (2001).
Frederick D. Drake History Teacher Alumni Award
The first recipient of this award, Terry Jozwik, graduated from Illinois State University in 1974. He has taught at Glenbrook South High School ever since. He is currently the chairman of the 24-person social sciences department there. Click here to read more. View photos.
Fall 2007 Homecoming Parade
Sponsored by the Department of History, students from Phi Alpha Theta, the History Club and the History Floor in Atkin-Colby prepared a float for the Sesquicentennial Parade. Special thanks go to Dr. Stump, Dr. Gifford, and all those students who helped construct the float and to those students who participated during the parade. Especially Abe Lincoln, Eric Vinsel and the Statue of Liberty, Jessica Joyce.
